Departures on request April / October

Hermitages, Nature, History and Art go hand in hand in this itinerary designed for those who want to "disconnect" and abandon themselves to the slow pace of life between the mountains and the sea in Abruzzo.

Program:

1st day: Arrival at Passo Lanciano / Mammarosa. The starting point for excursions will welcome us for this first day in the land of Abruzzo. Briefing with the guide. Stay and Dinner.

2nd day: The brigands' tables, walk on the blockhaus (Pic Nic in the high mountains). First day of excursions in the land of Abruzzo. Transfer to the starting point of about 10 'The trek will start from the Blockhaus on the Majella, along the old Montanelli path from the B. Pomilio refuge to the Tavole dei Briganti. The path climbs up to the antennas, then in the first flat part up to the Madonna, it will become more bumpy in the path of the mountain pines. We will reach the fountain and then the Tavole dei Briganti. The tour will continue going around the mountain until returning to the Refuge. (possibility to climb up to the Fusco bivouac on Monte Amaro with an additional 2.5 h) Return. Stay and Dinner. Difference in altitude: 200. KM: 10

Day 3: The way of the spirit and the hermitages, in the footsteps of Celestino V. Transfer of about 15 '. The very beautiful route will run through the valley with a view of the Hermitages set in the rock. The whole tour takes place in a very panoramic environment in the heart of the Majella National Park. It is not uncommon to encounter wild animals, but the most evocative encounter will be with the Tholos along the way and the Hermitage of San Giovanni all'Orfento first, the Hermitage of Santo Spirito a Majella then. The return will take us through the woods until we return to the starting point. Stay and Dinner. Difference in altitude: 800. KM: 12

4th Day: The path of the stone huts and dry stone walls (Unesco world heritage site). The Path of the Stone Huts, allows you to visit the agro-pastoral complexes of particular complexity, almost the entire path develops within a vast area shaped by man, who has created particularly well-kept pastoral paths. For hikers, this trek on the second highest massif of the Apennines, after the Gran Sasso, will lead to the "Mother Mountain" starting from the northern slopes of the Maiella, where the beech woods of Passo Lanciano host the largest concentration of stone huts. .. They are domed houses that recall the Mediterranean tholos prototypes of the Greek civilization and that resemble Sardinian nuraghi and Apulian trulli. Come back in. Stay and Dinner. Difference in altitude: 300. KM: 10

5th Day: The San Giovanni Waterfall. With a transfer of about 30 ', we reach the fresh and deeply engraved valley of the Vesola is characterized by the presence of the well-known San Giovanni waterfalls. What To Bring

The right "attitude": with the right attitude you are ready to face everything! Whether you are leaving for a self-guided tour, as a group, as a couple, with your family, the right attitude is the first thing to put in your backpack, leaving your "thoughts" at home!

Waterproof jacket and pants, sun protection: we can organize everything for your trip… but alas we can't do anything for the weather. So keep an eye on the weather forecast and always carry a waterproof jacket / cape and trousers, sunscreen cream and several layers of clothes suitable for the period (plan to dress "onion").

Sportswear: prefer long trousers for trekking with high socks and of suitable material according to the season. Especially if you have chosen a mountain tour, don't forget a roomy and comfortable backpack, with everything you need to face any adversity and lots of water. (water bottle, headgear, gloves, changing clothes, glasses, etc.)
