Polcenigo is one of the most beautiful towns in the Pordenone foothills at the foot of the Cansiglio - Cavallo. It is a geologically very interesting territory rich in particularities ranging from hydrogeology to paleontology. There is the possibility to explore it on different paths and with different commitment but always with great satisfaction. The goal of the day or half day is to get to know the dynamics of past and present water, which excels here, trying to learn to read the morphology of the territory with simple interpretations to bring the public closer to geology. At the foot of the mountain there are three important springs, the Gorgazzo, the Santissima, the Molinetto from which the Livenza River springs. Due to this presence, the whole area has become an important geosite, also home to the most important pile-dwelling site in Europe, the Palù di Livenza, protected by the UNESCO seal. Along the excursion you will be able to observe fossils as well as the footprint of the dinosaur.

Barbara G.

My name is Barbara, I am a geologist and speleologist passionate about travel and adventures, gained above all by doing off-road in the African desert. My curiosity for geomorphology has always led me to visit more or less known geological places on our planet, both above and below ground, sometimes even under water.

I believe that geology can be within everyone's reach if the right interpretations are given to understand it: I love to accompany people to visit the main sites of local geological importance to interpret their landscape and reveal their most intimate secrets through the wonder, the excitement and fun.

I gained my experience as a popularizer and animator in scientific museums and tourist sites, always connected with the world of scientific research.

My passion for Nature and our Planet led me to become a teacher and then an Environmental Hiking Guide
